Chain of Prayer

 Dear Churches Together friends,

Churches Together in Bedfordshire is organising its first ever 'Chain of Prayer'. We hope that your Churches Together group or Local Ecumenical Partnership will be willing to participate in this 'Chain of Prayer' which, due to the ongoing Covid situation, we are proposing to hold via Zoom.

We are organising this as part of our contribution to Thy Kingdom Come 2022, which I hope you are aware is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus.

Thy Kingdom Come, which started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England, has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. You can find more details here -

Thy Kingdom Come | Thy Kingdom Come

Thy Kingdom Come is particularly focussed on prayer during the time between Ascension Day (Thursday 26th May 2022) and Pentecost Sunday, 5th June 2022.

The Churches Together in Bedfordshire Chain of Prayer will be held between 9am and 12noon on Wednesday 1st June 2022. (We realise that this timing won't suit everyone, but wanted to make a start with something. We hope you'll understand if the timing doesn't fit with your availability, but we hope you will encourage participation from those who are available).

We are looking for Churches Together groups, Local Ecumenical Partnerships or even individual churches to take responsibility for 10 minutes of prayer time on Zoom between 9am and 12noon. This prayer time can take any form - the greater the variety of content and diversity of participants the better!

The hope is that this time of prayer will connect together Christians from across Bedfordshire, so it would be good if people stayed on / joined in times of in the chain of prayer being led by people from other churches/groups than their own.

Please give serious and prayerful thought to whether your church/es can participate in the 'Chain of Prayer', and let the Churches Together in Bedfordshire administrator, Stephanie Field, know ( ) about your willingness to participate, as well as any particular restrictions on the time slot(s) which you would be willing to take responsibility for. Please also contact Stephanie with any further questions.

Please share this email and the attached poster with contacts in your own churches and ecumenically so that we can ensure that all of the links in our 'Chain of Prayer' are filled.

 God bless,

 Andrew
