“Share Farnham” Initiative
On 12th May 2020, two Community Stores opened in Farnham to enable sharing and borrowing items to help adults and children to keep busy and active during the present COVID-19 restrictions.
“SHARE FARNHAM” opened from that date with two community stores:
- Farnham Maltings (Bridge Square, Farnham, GU9 7QR)
- Mon-Fri 10:00 a.m to 12:00 noon - Hale Community Centre (“The Bungalow”, 130 Upper Hale Road GU9 0JH)
- Tues & Fri 10:00 a.m to 12:00 noon;
- Wed 2:30 p.m to 4:30 p.m.
Stores are manned by volunteers. Items are donated and include puzzles & board games, books, musical instruments, garden games, sheet music, craft items, DVDs, toys, exercise equipment and cookery equipment. Donated and borrowed items are quarantined for 72 hours.

If you are shielding or self-isolating at home and would like help with either collection of your donated items, or delivery of items you would like to borrow, please phone the helpline.
“Share Farnham” is a joint initiative by the Farnham Maltings, Hale Community Centre, Farnham Town Council and the Farnham Herald.
Councillor Pat Evans, Mayor of Farnham said:
“Over the past few weeks, many people have rediscovered the simple pleasure of activities such as baking or doing a jigsay. These mindful activities not only pass the time but also being a sense of satisfaction. I think “Share Farnham” is an excellent initiative which will allow even more people to take up an old hobby or try something new.”
