“The Spire Church” in Farnham
On Sunday 2nd September 2018, Farnham's new Spire Church was born through an inaugural service held in the Farnham Methodist Church building. The Spire Church is a merger of the Farnham United Reformed Church and the Methodist Church.
First announced in July 2016, discussions to explore the possibility of uniting the churches reached an important milestone in May 2018, when it was decided that the name of the new church will be “The Spire Church”.
For some time, The Spire Church will use both buildings, particularly during the planned major remodelling and refurbishment of the URC building. To confirm timing and location of services and other activities and events, it is therefore particularly important to check the church web sites (links below)
Pilgrim Project. Major work is being undertaken in the URC building under the title of the “Pilgrim Project”. Consulatation, planning and fund-raising has been in progress for more than a year. At the present time (September 2018) the project had completed feasibility study and project design and an exhibition has been held to explain the work in more detail. The work will take place in a sequence of phases.
