What is so good about Good Friday, asked someone during the Walk of Witness led by the Bury Park Beech Hill Council of Churches on 14th April 2017 in Luton.

Besides Jesus Christ showing His great love for humankind and demonstrating the real power in forgiving, living and dying for others, it is also a reminder that evil does not have the final word. For many people the world seems a dark place today. Syria, Russia, US, N. Korea – relations between the world’s powerful nations seems to deteriorate. People are dying; it is too painful to watch. The Good Friday account inspires us all not to give up on hope, because it is not the climax. The climax is in Christians celebrating Easter – Jesus Christ’s resurrection, which marks the victory of life over death. During this year’s holy week, Christians have been called to feel afresh the connection between us and God and the connection between ourselves and all humanity.
