* Approximately 2000 people of all ages attended the Jubilee Street Party in Minehead organised by the local churches.

* 1250 Tickets for the cream teas were made available in two sittings and were collected within two and a half weeks of offering them. They were available from the Churches, Regal Box Office and Under the Rainbow bookshop.

* The ticketing for free cream teas meant a steady flow of people through the building. We ended up serving around 1500 cream teas and when they ran out cakes with gallons of tea, coffee and soft drinks.

* The afternoon had a full programme of entertainment to suit every taste and reflecting the different decades of the Queen's reign: The Town Mayor opened the proceedings which included a children's musical based on the story of Noah, West Somerset Chamber Choir, Minehead Male Voices Choir, Jazz, 60's rock and many others. We finished with a proms style sing along of patriotic songs.

* As well as the entertainment we also had a children's royal themed fancy dress competition. The prizegiving for the Exmoor Federation Schools Jubilee competitions also added to the excitement.

"We want to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers from the Minehead Churches who helped in so many ways. Special thanks must also go to Foxes Hotel helping coordinate the food and supplying the helpers with refreshments, Butlins for the loan of 500 chairs, A&B removals who lugged the different churches tables to Blenheim Road and then to the Methodist Church after our change of plans, C Lynch for signage and Veolia for waste disposal. It was a genuine community effort and I know people appreciated the input of so many to make the event a success"
A 20 minute compilation video of the entertainments follows...
