Mission-Shaped Ministry
A small group from Watchet Baptist are about half way through doing the Mission-Shaped Ministry course online. It's a great course, particularly for those thinking about how we shape ourselves for the future to engage missionally with our communities. I know a small group from Minehead did the 'Intro to msm' last year.
We have the offer of running a full msm course next year. Please read this from the msm co-ordinator...
I know you had said before you wondered that doing the course in your group may stimulate energy for a classic msm course next year. Have you managed to do anymore thinking and praying about whether it may be appropriate to run a course?
I would be happy to come and join you both, drawing in someone from the Bath and Wells Diocese. Nick Moxon, who has led the Cumbria and Lancashire course the last few years is moving down to Portishead to take up a post as a Methodist Minister in the circuit. He has been a part of the msm Board for the last few years too and I am sure would be happy to help with some teaching, (even if the new role doesn't allow for anything more in the first year)
So... what do you think? There would be some modest costs involved which could be paid for by churches, 'Christians Together' groups and/or individuals attending the course.
We would be very happy to host the course at The Sanctuary but I think we'd need to see a minimum of 12-15 people committed to it (one evening every 4-5 weeks for 10 months) if we are to proceed...
Let me know your thoughts,
Have a blessed Christmas!
