Taizé and Tea at St. Michael's Alcombe 3 till 5 on Sunday May 22nd
The magic of those simple Taizé chants sung by hundreds of pilgrims at the village of Taizé deep in the hills of Burgundy, once heard, is never forgotten, and we are hoping to re-capture something of that magic on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May.
Under the direction of Keith Jones the choir of St. Michael's Alcombe will lead a brief rehearsal and a simple act of worship featuring Taizé through the Church's year. Choirs and congregations are invited to attend, to sing or listen and to enjoy a cream tea afterwards. Donations (after expenses) will go to St. Michael's music fund which is contemplating organ restoration.
