About Us

Dalbeattie is the largest town in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright in southwest Scotland, with a population of just over 4,000. The town serves as the focal point for a number of smaller villages along the Colvend Coast, and inland, which comprise the DG5 postcode area, covered by this Churches Together group.

Statement of Intent for Churches Together in Dalbeattie and District

As Christian Churches in Dalbeattie and the surrounding villages, we share a common faith in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that we are being called by God to realise more deeply our common life and mission, to share and respect the distinctive contributions of our varying traditions, to bring about closer collaboration in all areas of witness and service, and to work and pray for that unity to which Christ calls us.

We are committed to encouraging and supporting one another as we seek to explore and nurture our faith and to express our beliefs in ministry and witness to our local community.

• By initiating and promoting shared acts of worship
• By fostering opportunities for joint study and discussion of matters of common interest.
• By exploring ways to work together to serve the people of our locality.
• By cooperating in our common mission to make God's love and grace known to those around us.
