The Hub hosts Bradford on Avon foodbank, which is affiliated to the Christian organisation of Trussell Trust; this means that it works on a voucher system which will be issued by professionals working in agencies, schools and healthcare in the local area. Emergency food will be issued to the agency or the individual in exchange for a signed voucher. The statistics are then recorded to enable Trussell Trust to provide the government with this information. Volunteers help run the foodbank where a large number of tasks will ensure its smooth running. Clients will be offered a welcome, chat, drink and biscuits and can then leave with bags or a box via the back entrance if they prefer.
Here is a current list of Foods Required by the Food Bank.
Opening times: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11-1pm (if someone is there, clients can receive food at other times).
Hope Debt Advice Service has relocated to the Hub and its service includes money management, welfare benefit and tax credit advice. The volunteer advisors have all undergone training and are there to help produce a financial statement which is necessary for negotiations with creditors, arranging debt management plans, DROs, IVAs and bankruptcy petitions.
Opening times: Tuesday 6-8pm and Wednesday 9.30 - 3pm on an appointment only basis.
