About Churches Together in Sussex

In 1955 the then Bishop of Chichester, George Bell established the first ever County Council of Churches in Sussex. Since then all parts of England have developed similar structures. For many years there have been coordinators of the County wide network, and I am proud to be the latest.

My role is to ensure that wherever possible Churches work together at both a local and County wide basis. I am also expected to work with a variety of partner agencies which are not part of the churches. These include Sussex Police, the 15 upper tier Local Authorities, (the work of the Parish Councils in Sussex is vital but sadly there are too many of these for one part time worker to relate to) Fire and Rescue Services and Health Agencies.
