The board members of the Schools Christian Worker Project are delighted to announce the appointment of Hannah Moore as our new full time Schools Christian worker. Those of you with long memories may recall that we had a worker with exactly the same name before Ben, so we did a double take when the application came in, but this is sim ply a strange coincidence!
We praise God for his guidance and provision during the advertising and interview process and thank you for all your prayers. We all look forward to working with Hannah to take up the opportunities God gives us to bless the schools' populations in the Oswestry and Ellesmere areas.
We hope you will enjoy getting to know this gifted and accomplished young woman. She has a wide experience of working with children and young people, both as a teacher and as a voluntary worker. Hannah is a compassionate person and has a heart for the last, the least and the lost - something which God has shown us to be a key part of the SCWP mission.
Hannah was brought up in a Christian family and made her own commitment as a child. Her faith has matured as she has grown and she started working alongside The Message Tribe and others in her teens. Since then she has gained qualifications and teaching experience while volunteering with her church, student work, prison ministry, youth camps, Youth Alpha and in other settings.
She studied drama and theatre studies, and then trained as a Primary School teacher at Chester, where she is just completing her M.A. In addition Hannah is a singer and song-writer, using these talents in her youth work, in performances and in leading worship.
Hannah has a strong desire to share the good news of the gospel, through awareness of contemporary youth culture, her own experience, and her knowledge of and confidence in God's word.
The plan is for her to spend a bit of time with us this term, then we look forward to her getting into the challenges of the post at the beginning of September. Please pray for Hannah as she introduces herself to schools and begins to make relationships.
Her official induction will take place as part of the CTOD Harvest ‘Praise and Puddings' event on the evening of Sunday 2 nd of October, at the Whole Life Centre, Cabin Lane.
We hope that you will be able to join us and get to know Hannah then.
