First of a series of three lectures for Lent by special speakers. The starting time of each is 8pm, with refreshments served beforehand from 7.40pm. Everyone welcome!

The first lecture, 'Most Excellent Tree': The Cross in Art through the centuries, is by the Rt Revd Dr Chris Herbert, former Bishop of St Alban's.

A special service for the Women's World day of Prayer takes place at the Church of St Joan of Arc on Friday 6th March at 10.30am.

The Christian Women of the Bahamas have put together this year's Service; themed 'Jesus Said to Them: Do You Know What I Have Done To You?'

Men, women and children are most welcome to this Service. Please come in bright colours and bring all things in bright colours with you if you wish; flowers, pictures of the Bahamas etc. All welcome.

Assemble at the top of the Hart (by Waitrose Car Park) at 11.45am for 12 noon start. Silent procession following the Cross through the streets of the town. Finish with prayers and a hymn in the churchyard at St Andrew's. You may wish to carry a palm or other small cross. 

'HE IS RISEN'

Musical celebration of the Resurrection for all ages. Everyone is invited to join musicians from Farnham Pentecostal Church and other churches at the bandstand for an afternoon of praise, thanksgiving and fun.

Farnham Baptist Church is hosting a General Election Hustings at  7.30pm on Wednesday 29th April.  The candidates for the South West Surrey Constituency have been invited.

The organiser, Mike Causley, a member of the Leadership Team at Farnham Baptist Church, writes:

'The purpose of the hustings is to allow a specific opportunity for Christians in the town to ask the candidates about matter that not only cover the typical concerns of the election, but also the moral issues.'

“LIFE IN THE SPIRIT” prayer group meets on Thursday evenings at 8:00 p.m at St.Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Everyone is welcome.

Meet in the foyer of the Centre (next to the church), except for the first Thursday each month when the meeting is within the church.  Meetings include praise and worship, scripture meditation, silent adoration, developing gifts of the Holy Spirit, prayer for healing and intercessory prayer.

The 2015 Annual General Meeting of CTF took place at Farnham Pentecostal Church on Tuesday 13th October.

Farnham Help for Syrian Refugees

24th October - 9am onwards - St Mary's Church, Frensham - Music Marathon - choirs, soloists. At 7.30pm 'Hymns & Pimms' - refreshments, stalls, tombola. Entrance £5 - come and go all day as you wish. In aid of Tower Fund.

Town Crier Performance for ‘Save Organ' fund

The Farnham Town Crier, Jonathan Jones, will narrate Dickens’s seasonal classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ at St Mark’s Church, Upper Hale on December 5th at 7.30pm. There will be no charge for the evening, but a retiring collection will be taken in aid of ‘Emily’ the pipe organ.

Jonathan Jones remarked, “It is a dramatised reading, based on the script that Dickens himself used for his acclaimed public readings, both here and the United States of America, where the characters of Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and Christmas Past, Present and Future were brought to life on the stage by a solitary figure.”

The Reverend Lesley Crawley, a priest at St Mark’s said, “We are so thankful to Jonathan for offering this performance to save ‘Emily’.Emily is a beautiful Edwardian pipe organ that is just over 100 years old. She is referred to as ‘Emily’ after her benefactor – Emily Mangles. Sadly, she can no longer be played regularly as she is in need of a complete overhaul. I’m really looking forward to the event. Please put the date in your diary and come along with all your friends.”

The Vivaldi Singers Celebrate the Glory of Christmas at Farnham Methodist Church at  3pm. A feast of traditional and contemporary Christmas music. Tickets available from Vivaldi Singers website or on the door - adults £10; under 16s £5; under 5s free.

SOUPER SOUP DAY FOR CHRISTIAN AID

The Spire Cafe at Farnham URC is open for soup from 10am till 2pm - with the proceeds  donated to Christian Aid.

There will be a bucket collection outside the Church all day.

BIG SING FOR CHRISTIAN AID

Join the carol singing outside Farnham URC from 2-3.30 pm.

The Christmas appeal is focussed on Christian Aid's prevention of malaria campaign as well as on the crisis in Syria.  Follow link from Home Page to find out more. 

Tilford Bach Society's annual Carol Concerts at All Saint's Church, Tilford.  The 3pm concert will be geared to families with young children. Pupils from Waverley Abbey School and All Saints Infants School will be singing in part of the concert. Haslemere Singing Studio will perform and there will be seasonal readings and audience carols. Both concerts and the mince pies and mulled wine  to accompany them are FREE!

At 6.30pm the second of two free Carol Concerts arranged by the Tilford Bach Society at All Saint's Church, Tilford. The second  concert will be geared to a more adult audience, including excerpts from JS Bach’s Christmas Oratorio.

Haslemere Singing Studio and Tilford Bach Choir will perform, plus there will be seasonal readings and audience carols.

Both concerts and the mulled wine and mince pies to accompany them are FREE OF CHARGE!

Farnham ASSIST friends and supporters will be singing carols outside Pizza Express from 11.45am until 12.30pm as part of Farnham Christmas Market, an all-day (10am - 4pm) event with hundreds of stalls in Castle Street and at Mercure Bush Hotel, with quantities of festive fare and gifts available.
